Module 1 — Introduction & Foundations

Objective: Build familiarity with the Arabic script, sounds, and basic sentence formation.

• Overview of Classical Arabic vs. Modern Standard Arabic

• Arabic Alphabet — shapes, names, and positions (initial, medial, final)

• Short & long vowels (ḥarakāt & madd)

• Consonants & pronunciation (with tajwīd-style articulation practice)

• Writing practice — joining letters & handwriting rules

• Basic greetings & phrases in formal Arabic

• Introduction to nominal sentences (simple subject–predicate structure)

Module 2 — Nouns, Pronouns & Gender

Objective: Understand noun patterns, gender rules, and pronouns.

• Masculine vs. feminine nouns

• Definite article (ال) usage

• Singular, dual, and plural forms

• Personal pronouns (أنا, نحن, هو, هي, etc.)

• Possessive pronouns & suffixes

• Introduction to demonstratives (هذا, هذه, هؤلاء, etc.)

• Vocabulary expansion (daily life, family, basic objects)

Module 3 — Verbs & Tenses (Past & Present)

Objective: Master basic verb conjugations and usage in sentences.

• Verb root system & triliteral roots

• Past tense (الماضي) conjugation patterns

• Present tense (المضارع) conjugation

• Subject–verb agreement

• Negative sentences (لا, لم, لن)

• Common irregular verbs

• Practice: Reading simple sentences from short stories

Module 4 — Adjectives & Descriptions

Objective: Describe people, places, and things accurately.

• Adjective–noun agreement (gender & number)

• Descriptive phrases & comparative forms

• Colors, sizes, qualities vocabulary

• Introduction to the concept of إعراب (case endings) for adjectives

• Reading & forming descriptive sentences from short Qur’anic verses or texts

Module 5 — Prepositions & Connectors

Objective: Build complex sentences using prepositions and connectors.

• Common prepositions (في, على, من, إلى, مع, عن, etc.)

• Conjunctions (و, ثم, لكن, أو, بل)

• Basic adverbs (now, yesterday, tomorrow) in Arabic

• Linking sentences with conjunctions

• Practice: Describing a scene or telling a short story

Module 6 — Advanced Verbs & Moods

Objective: Introduce imperative, subjunctive, and jussive moods.

• Imperative verbs (الأمر) formation

• Subjunctive (المضارع المنصوب)

• Jussive (المضارع المجزوم) and conditional sentences

• Usage in Qur’anic and Hadith texts

• Practice: Giving polite commands and making requests

Module 7 — Reading Classical Texts

Objective: Develop reading comprehension from authentic Classical Arabic sources.

• Reading short Qur’anic excerpts (with translation)

• Selected Hadiths with simple vocabulary

• Classical Arabic poetry introduction

• Understanding basic tafsir (interpretations) vocabulary

• Practice: Extracting meaning and grammar from short passages

Module 8 — Writing & Speaking Practice

Objective: Apply learned grammar to create structured speech and writing.

• Writing short paragraphs (self-introduction, daily routine, descriptions)

• Speaking drills (teacher-led Q&A in Arabic)

• Role-play activities (formal situations)

• Recitation practice (for fluency and pronunciation)

Module 9 — Final Project & Review

Objective: Consolidate learning and demonstrate mastery.

• Revision of all grammar concepts

• Vocabulary review

• Final oral assessment (conversation in Classical Arabic)

• Written test (translation & grammar)

• Recitation of a chosen short passage in correct Classical Arabic
